Red Bag Program Launched!
Our new Red Bag Fresh Food Program at Jackson Street School is off to a great start! Approximately 30 families who participate in SNAP and/or free and reduced school lunch programs are receiving a bag of Crimson & Clover Farm vegetables each week for 10 weeks. Participants pay $20 ($2/week) for a farm share valued at $120 and can pick up their dhare on Thursdays after school lets out. We are grateful to Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation and our individual and business supporters for making fresh, health, local produce available to low-income families. We’re also grateful to a great group of school volunteers, JSS staff, new members of our team Katie and Sarina, and Families With Power for help with outreach and sorting and distributing vegetables. Jackson Street PTO is also contributing $10 of the $20 fee for all JSS families!
