April 30, 2019- Tuesday Market

Our first Tuesday Market of the year was a smashing success last week! The plaza was filled to the brim with food and flowers, great music and folks enjoying the beautiful spring day. We can expect more of the same this week. Get there early for the first asparagus, fiddleheads and ramps!

Stay for a while listening to Nate Martel with some indie-folk-soul-rock. The special pizza at Laughing Tomato is the Drunken Mushroom (roasted garlic spread, Gruyere cheese, beer poached mushrooms and a sprinkle of parsley). You could also grab a Grilled Cheese at Cricket Creek Farm. Wash it down with iced tea from Sweet Birch Herbals or kombucha from LifeBooch Kombucha!

See you at market!

We are honored to have been voted Best Farmers Market in the Valley by Valley Advocate Readers again this year. Thanks to all who voted, our vendors, our customers, our musicians and everyone at Grow Food Northampton and the city for making us great!
We are happy to share space on the winners list with some of our vendors, congrats to our own Red Fire Farm (2nd place for Best CSA and Farm Stand) and Hungry Ghost (2nd place Best Bakery)!

Faithful market-goer and talented at-home chef, Christina Barber-Just shares her culinary adventures on Instagram. Christina celebrated the first market of the season with a springy Crab Pasta!
Christina writes: Spring on a plate! I celebrated the return today of Northampton’s seasonal Tuesday Market
by visiting the BerkShore booth and buying a half-pound of fresh Canadian Jonah crab meat. It became the basis for this version of Melissa Clark’s Crab Pasta, which I made with equal parts fresh fettuccine, crab meat, and sugar snap peas, plus scallions, lemon, and local green pea shoots, among other goodness.

The Healthy Incentives Program is currently suspended until May 25.
