Essential Pollinators: How to Incorporate Native-to-New England Plants and Protect Pollinators in Our Gardens

Join longtime gardeners Donna Wiley and Abby Kingman for this tour and hands-on exploration of essential pollinators in the Grow Food Northampton Community Garden, and how to protect their habitats.
Using the Pollinators Garden at GFN as an example (Plots C/D 31/32), we’ll learn how to encourage the flourishing of the insects and animals who ensure the flowering and fruiting of the plants we need and love. We’ll talk about simple approaches we can all take, about the level of maintenance required, and about what volunteers have learned by maintaining the Pollinators Garden since its inception in 2017.
