“Get a Mule, 40 Acres or so…” the Histories and Legacies of Black Land Ownership and Farming

Grow Food Northampton is happy to support the public premiere of Self Evident Education’s powerful documentary short, “Get a Mule, Forty Acres or So…” and a live taping of the podcast “Remind My Soul” the day after the holiday of Juneteenth.

“Get a Mule, Forty Acres or So…”, is Part 1 in a three-part series about the histories and legacies of Black land ownership and farming called “Freedom’s Soil: Land and Liberation.”

After the film screening, Michael Lawrence-Riddell and artist Akrobatik will be joined in discussion by Michael’s co-producer for the film, Ibrahim Ali and African American History professor Ousmane Power-Greene.
