Exciting Leadership News: Co-Executive Directors at GFN
We’re thrilled to announce that, starting January 1, 2025, Michael Skillicorn has joined Alisa Klein as Co-Executive Director of Grow Food Northampton! Together, their complementary strengths and shared vision will lead us into an exciting new chapter.

The Grow Food Northampton Board of Directors is thrilled to announce that, effective January 1, 2025, Michael Skillicorn joined Alisa Klein at the head of the organization where they will serve as Co-Executive Directors. The Board unanimously approved this decision out of deep respect and appreciation for both Alisa and Michael, whose complementary experience and expertise are extraordinarily well suited to meet the needs of GFN. By shifting our structure to one that elevates and formalizes shared responsibility, we are aligning internal practices with the justice-oriented work we do in the community.
Michael joined Grow Food Northampton eight years ago as the organization’s Program Director and five years ago was promoted to Associate Director, a role he has carried out with great skill. This change in structure is a formal recognition of the work he does so well for the organization. Over the last five years, Alisa has led the organization through a pandemic and the flood of 2023 with vision and bold leadership – the type of leadership that lifts up those around her. We at GFN are fortunate to have them both guiding our work in the community.
