Grow Food Kids: At Home Vol. 3

Grow Food KidsWe miss seeing all of our friends from the Northampton and Easthampton schools right now so we started making lists of fun Grow Food Kids activities that can be done at home. Grow Food Kids Cooking Show!

Cook along with Farmer Ellena as she makes Corn Bean Tomato Salsa with ingredients at home. This recipe will be familiar for many students, since we made it in the Northampton and Easthampton public school classrooms this February.

Story time with Melissa:

Melissa, our youth educator, reads a favorite Grow Food Northampton story, Little Apple Goat by Caroline Church, on a rainy day this spring. Enjoy!

A roundup of no-cost outdoor activities:

Each week when Grow Food Northampton delivers food to hundreds of families in Northampton (Community Food Distribution Project), we add a supplement with some recipes and an activity created by our Grow Food Kids team. Check them out here:

Visit the Giving Garden (virtually!) on Facebook Live:

Normally at this time of year we’d be hosting school groups for field trips in the garden every day. For now, please join us every Wednesday at 12:30pm for a brief tour of what’s new in the Giving Garden on Facebook Live. Send us requests of what you’d like to learn about! Recent tours have included dissecting an owl pellet, learning about our shiitake mushroom operation and a peek at our resident killdeer family.
Past videos are available for you to enjoy on Youtube and Facebook. Follow us on Facebook to join us LIVE on Wednesdays at 12:30!
