Bombeta Farms is owned and operated by Aoma Muma, a Kenyan-born farmer from a long lineage of small-scale growers. After joining the World Farmers program in Lancaster, MA in 2011, Muma steadily expanded his operation from a small family plot to a 19-acre commercial farm with a strong presence in wholesale markets and farmers markets across eastern Massachusetts.
At Bombeta Farms, Muma grows a vibrant array of culturally significant crops including amaranth, chinsaga, and managu alongside Asian, Japanese, and locally common vegetables and pumpkins. Beyond production, Muma is a mentor and advocate for peer learning among farmers. He credits an elder Hmong farmer as a pivotal influence and has since taken on a mentorship role himself, supporting other growers in navigating the farming landscape in Massachusetts.
