CT Valley Farms joined the Northampton Community Farm in May, 2016.
Jim Dombroski and Vicheth Im completed the New Entry Sustainable Farming Project Farm Business Planning Course in 2012, and have been co-owners CT Valley Farms, LLC, since then. They have developed a niche with specialty vegetable crops traditionally grown and consumed in areas outside the U.S., and grow many varieties that appeal to Latino, West Indian, and Asian populations, and to anyone seeking authentic ingredients used in those cuisines.
For three years, they grew at the Simsbury Community Farm, a Connecticut incubator. As they approached their time limit in the incubator program, they sought land to lease that would allow them to continue to build their small farm business while maintaining off-farm employment. Grow Food Northampton was able to provide a lease on 0.8 acre of our South Field, and planting began in May, 2016!
