Melissa is a certified teacher who has worked with children from a wide range of backgrounds. While working with families in Special Education, she developed an aptitude for communicating information in really accessible ways. Melissa believes that combining her educational skills with her passion for sustainable agriculture is how she can do the most good for the individual and the planet. She holds a bachelor’s in Education from Smith College, a master’s in Special Education from UMass Amherst, and an associate’s in Sustainability Studies from Holyoke Community College. She will spend much of her 2019-20 TerraCorps service year working with the Grow Food Kids program.
