Ingredients:

8 apples, cored
½ cup brown sugar or about a 1/3 cup of maple syrup or honey
1 cup raisins
1 cup chopped nuts
2 tbsp melted butter or oil
1 tsp cinnamon
Dash of cloves or nutmeg

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 400 °F. Core the apples and place them into a baking dish. Set a pot of water on the stove to boil. While you are waiting, combine all the ingredients, aside from the apples, in a large bowl, mixing them together thoroughly.

Stuff the apples with the sugar mixture and pour a 1/2 inch of boiling water into the bottom of the baking dish. Bake the apples at 400 °F until they are cooked to your liking. You can use a knife to check how tender they are.

Could be served hot or warm!

Variations:

Use warm apple cider instead of boiling water in bottom of baking dish.
