Ride out the heat wave at Tuesday Market- June 13, 2017

The wait is over—Summer has arrived to the Valley!
The heat wave is right on time with a growing selection of produce at the market!

You may even spot some cherry tomatoes! Hot nights are perfect for a market dinner… some bread and cheese, a salad and a box of strawberries, it can be that simple yet so satisfying.
Or let us do the cooking– Beets & Barley will have food and drink to help you beat the heat! This week’s specials are peanut noodles and raw kale caesar salad- both gluten free and vegan- and packed with fresh local veggies.  They’ll also have iced teas made with Sawmill Farm herbs (pictured) and plenty of gluten free treats and local popcorn!

We’re happy to welcome Katherine First and Kitchen Party back to the market this week. Their music is a delightful fit to Tuesday Market. They’ll be performing from 4-6pm. Plan to relax in the shade and enjoy the sounds!

Those who attended Grow Food Northampton’s farm-to-table dinner at Crimson and Clover last week were treated to delicious food prepared by Wheelhouse Catering as well as a tour of the farm and the opportunity to learn about GFN’s work. In case you missed it, the Daily Hampshire Gazette wrote a wonderful article about the event and Grow Food Northampton’s programs, read it HERE.
Share a part of Tuesday Market with your friends and family in NYC!  On June 18th, Hart Farm will be kicking off their New York City farm box delivery program. Have a farm box full of veggies, fruit, fresh eggs, flowers, Hungry Ghost bread and preserves delivered to the door of your loved ones. The delivery program runs once a month from June-October, buy one box or the whole 5 month season.  A great idea for fathers day, birthdays, weddings or just because!
More information at HERE.
Tuesday Market accepts SNAP benefits and will be matching SNAP purchases up to $10 while we wait for vendors to have the ability to accept the new HIP benefit at the market.
HIP is a three-year program which will match SNAP recipients’ purchases of local fruits and vegetables at participating farmers’ markets, mobile markets, farms stands, and CSAs. The HIP benefit will provide $40-$80 per month to SNAP users, depending on household size. Customers can learn more about this exciting new local food benefit by stopping by the purple market tent at Tuesday Market or by clicking HERE
