Thanks, everyone! There’s more to do before 12/31, but #GivingTuesday was a great way to kick off the month.
On December 1, Grow Food Northampton participated in Giving Tuesday, a national day of giving that helps balance out the consumerism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday by encouraging everyone to spend on charitable causes as part of the holiday season. As Valley Gives is not taking place this year (it will return in May, 2016), many local nonprofits participated in #GivingTuesday for the first time, with encouragement from the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts.
Valley Gives: Coming This Spring
In early 2016 you will be hearing much more from the Community Foundation about its signature community giving program, Valley Gives, which will be held on May 3, 2016.
