Tuesday Market– August 22– News

This week starts our 6-week Tuesday Market Summer Chef Series! Each week for 6 weeks market-goers can enjoy a cooking demonstration using ingredients from around the farmers’ market, prepared by a talented and well-known lineup of local chefs. The demonstrations will be at 5pm each week. Many of our guest chefs are cookbook authors. Their books will be available for sale at the market tent and the chefs will be available to sign books after the demo.

Our first guest chef will be Mary Reilly, publisher of Edible Pioneer Valley, executive chef of dining services at Westfield State College and contributor to Home Sausage Making. Mary will be sharing her recipe Pioneer Valley Panzanella. She previewed it on Mass Appeal last week. You can find Mary’s panzanella recipe on our website and each week’s featured recipe as the series unfolds.

Many varieties of wild mushrooms have begun popping up in our area. Here’s Paul from New England Wild Edibles proudly sharing these enormous foraged mushrooms! A super tall parasol mushroom and a 7.5 lb puffball mushroom!
Come by Justamere Tree Farm for freshly made Eclipse Maple Cream. It is so spreadable and delicious! Taste the difference!

Ever wondered about cucamelons? Never heard of them? Try one at Old Friends Farm!
