It was great to see so many people at the market last week on the 4th of July! It was a treat to host Tuesday Market on a holiday, which brought more of a weekend energy.
This week the summer vibes will continue with lots of summer crops and flowers adding excitement to the always-available items like cheese, honey, maple syrup and meat (and so much more!). Golden Bird is our entertainment for the afternoon this week. Catch them at 2:30 for some fun acoustic covers (with a couple of originals thrown in). Bring your kiddos at 4:00 for music from their kid-oriented album Fly. There will be puppets, dancing, kazoos, and a whole lot of fun for all!
Our website has been getting some freshening up and now contains all of the recipes that Tuesday Market has generated, since the beginning! Thanks to our fabulous summer intern, Desi, you can now easily scroll through and be inspired. Check it out!
Taproot Threads will be with is this week with original designs hand screened on ethically sourced apparel for adults, kids and babies. They’ve got something for everyone and their stuff makes a great gift!
This past Saturday was the opening of In A Different Light: Photographs by Dave Rothstein at the Easthampton City Arts Gallery. Dave is a multi-talented artist and his latest work is a collection of photographs of local food combined with miniatures to create whimsical scenes. Several of our farms are featured in this exhibit including Red Fire Farm, Park Hill Orchard, Old Friends Farm, Red Barn Honey and Crooked Stick Pops!
See this fun collection at the Easthampton City Arts gallery in the old town hall through July 27. ECA gallery will be open on Tuesdays 12-5pm, Thursdays 12-7pm, Saturdays 12-4pm.
HIP has arrived at Tuesday Market!
HIP is a three-year program which will match SNAP recipients’ purchases of local fruits and vegetables at participating farmers’ markets, mobile markets, farms stands, and CSAs. The HIP benefit will provide $40-$80 per month to SNAP users, depending on household size. Customers can learn more about this exciting new local food benefit by stopping by the purple market tent at Tuesday Market or by clicking HERE. Find local farms and farmers’ arkets where you can currently use HIP on the MassGrown Website (actively being updated).
Crabapple Farm and Red Fire Farm are our first farms to be able to process HIP purchases. Visit them for summer produce, dried beans and plant starts that are HIP eligible!
