Tuesday Market News for June 26, 2018!

With the market overflowing with produce, it’s easy to get inspired to do some cooking! Garlic scapes are now available at many vendor’s stalls. These are the garlic flowers, cut before they bloom to allow the bulb to fatten up. They’re great to add to a stir fry, salad dressing or anywhere you’d use garlic. Try this recipe from our website for  Pistachio Garlic Scape Pesto! Need an fast and easy salad, try this versatile Massaged Kale Salad. Add a piece of fish, some eggs, cheese, meat or bread and you have a meal!
Our old friend, Aaron Cooper will be at market playing his own tunes and covers. You can grab a cold drink from Beets and Barley, Sweet Birch Herbals, New England Wild Edibles or Botanica or perhaps a popsicle from Crooked Stick Pops! It’s going to be a lovely market day!

HELP! We need bags! Our Bag Share has gotten so popular in recent weeks that we are nearly out of bags! Many bags have been shared but very few returned. If you have any of our Bag Share bags at home, please return them and if you have a growing collection of reusable bags (of all sizes!) please consider donating them to us. All bags can be dropped into the bin at the corner of the market tent. Thank you!
We’re so happy to have Hosta Hill at market every week this year. Stop by to try a sample of several varieties of sauerkraut!
Tomatoes have arrived at market! Both slicing and cherry varieties can be found. Try Mary Reilly‘s recipe for Pioneer Valley Panzanella from last year’s Chef Series! Mary will be back later this summer when we host another round of exciting chef demos!
