Tuesday Market on May 1, 2018- Valley Gives Day!

Last week was a wonderful start to our season. It was great to see everyone back together again, reunite with regular customers and see how much the children have grown over the winter! And the food!

This week is looking like another beauty! You’ll find lots of vegetables from roots to greens, Apex Orchard will be back with the last of the cold-storage apples and as always, there will be a variety of cheeses, maple products, honey, meats, eggs, flowers and more! Plants can be found all around the market right now, grab some for your garden or flowerpots!

This Tuesday is Valley Gives Day. You’re likely hearing about it from all of your favorite local organizations. It’s a wonderful thing for our valley to concentrate on giving for one day! It’s made even more fun (and rewarding!) by the Community Foundation of Western Mass’ lengthy list of prize opportunities for participating organizations. Your $10 donation could end up winning $1,000 or more in prize money! While you’re deciding where to give your money to on Tuesday, please consider Grow Food Northampton. By supporting GFN, you’re supporting Tuesday Market and all of the other wonderful programs that are happening year-round like our Education programs in Northampton schools, our Giving Garden, Community Garden and Subsidized Farm Shares.

Crooked Stick Pops will be generously donating $1 from each pop sold at Tuesday Market this week to Grow Food Northampton for Valley Gives Day! They’re celebrating their second anniversary and thought this would be fun way to give back. Thanks so much, guys!
It’s great to have BerkShore back selling fish for the full season. Each week they will try to bring an underutilized fish to market. These fish are more sustainable and usually more affordable. Wondering how to cook it? Just ask!
